Dermaroller Treatment in Ascot

What is Dermaroller?

The Genuine Dermaroller is a surgical grade, stainless steel, sterile device and is the only such device approved within the EU. In the UK and Ireland it is only available from trained medical practitioners and authorized clinics.

Dermaroller utilises a natural regenerative and repair mechanism. It has excellent clinical outcomes and safety profiles with minimum down-time. It can be used to complement other procedures such as Botox™, fillers, laser or peel treatments and can be used on any skin type.

What is eDS?

eDS is the electronic dermal stamp and has largely superceded the mechanical Dermaroller. It is a machine that delivers the same medical micro needling but the needle lengths can be varied according to which part of the face is being treated. The rate of needling can also be altered so delivers a much more "bespoke" treatment.

How does it work?

Both modalities use tiny micro-needles to puncture the skin thousands of times. This stimulates the fibroblasts to increase activity and thereby produce more collagen. This collagen then has to mature, which is why results can take up to 6 weeks to fully take effect. This regeneration and repair activity will continue for months, creating a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

The treatment takes around 1 hour. A topical anaesthetic is applied to numb the skin and this has to be left for 30 minutes. The actual procedure takes between 20 to 30 minutes. I usually then apply an oxygenerating cream to help calm the skin.

Are there any side-effects?

After the procedure, the skin looks as if it has moderate sunburn and may feel warm and tight. This usually subsides after 1 to 2 hours and the next day there should be only mild redness.

You should not wear make-up for at least 12 hours and you need to be "gentle" with your skin for 48 hours or until the redness has completely settled.

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment depends on the area treated:

  • full face - £300
  • face, neck décolletage - £450

It is recommended that Dermaroller Therapy consists of 2 or 3 treatments, at least 6 weeks apart. It is usually then only necessary for a "top up" treatment once or twice a year.

Dermastamp

Dermastamp is a much smaller device with slightly longer needles. It does not have a "roller" mechanism and is used to treat small "stubborn" areas such as scars.

The same mode of action and side effects apply but the "down-time" can be 1 to 2 days longer as it is a slightly more invasive procedure.

It can be used in conjunction with Dermaroller or on its own. As before, a series of treatments will ensure the best results.

Dermastamp treatment costs £150.
